London-The British Museum

After our incredible adventure in Egypt, I was eager to continue exploring ancient history. We added a three-day trip to London to visit the British Museum’s extensive collection of Egyptian artifacts. Upon arriving in London, I was pleasantly surprised that the city was much more diverse than I had anticipated. I had assumed that London was similar to Seattle, Washington, with mixed areas but predominantly white, but London was diverse in all areas, much like New York City.

We spent most of our time in London exploring local neighborhoods, trying new restaurants, and visiting small movie theaters. We wanted to immerse ourselves in the city’s culture and avoid the typical tourist spots. One of our favorite local spots was a quaint bookstore on a side street, where we spent hours browsing and chatting with the friendly staff. We also stumbled upon a small farmer’s market where we sampled some of the best local produce and homemade goods.

Of course, we couldn’t leave London without visiting the British Museum to see the incredible collection of Egyptian artifacts. We spent a whole day exploring the galleries and marveling at the ancient history on display. The museum was crowded, but we could appreciate the artifacts up close and take our time examining them.

In the evenings, we ventured out to different restaurants, trying new cuisines and enjoying the local nightlife. One of our favorite meals was at a family-owned Indian restaurant that served the most delicious biryani we had ever tasted. We also visited a charming French bistro that felt like a hidden gem tucked away in a quiet alley.

On our last night in London, we decided to treat ourselves to a movie at a small independent theater. The theater was cozy and intimate, and we enjoyed the film while snacking on freshly popped popcorn.

Overall, our trip to London was a wonderful experience. We were able to immerse ourselves in the local culture and explore the city’s hidden gems. The city’s diversity was a pleasant surprise, and we felt enriched by our time there. The trip was short, but we felt we had made the most of our three days in London.
